The Center for NDT was established with the following missions:
- Provides the Non-Destructive Testing services to civil engineering-related industry,
- Conducts researches related to the innovation of Non-Destructive Testing technology,
- Offers training courses to educate the personnel to perform Non-Destructive Testing inspection for public infrastructures.
The Department of Construction Engineering committed to the development of the non-destructive testing technology and its applications, and non-destructive testing curriculum. Equipment fundings of the department mostly applied to procurement of non-destructive testing equipments. For three consecutive years, we received special funds from the Ministry of Education with totally amount of 18.8 million NT dollars. The researchers of CNDT published many journal articles and received domestic and international attentions. Many industry-university cooperative research projects were conducted during the period of 2001-2010 with funds reaching 52.97 million NT dollars. The research funding from National Science Council and the public sector is about 34.72 million NT dollars and the funds from industry-university cooperation projects is 18.25 million NT dollars. We participated many assessment works for the damaged structures during the Chi-Chi earthquake in 1999 and flood in 2009.
